Description
Class Experience
These private lessons are catered to you, so if you have an audition coming up or materials would like to work on, we can make that the focus. Otherwise, I have a general format for other acting skills below: Theatre or General Acting Lessons: 1. We will start by getting to know each other and your experience 2. Character Building (character interview game) 3. Scene Study 4. Act it Out! On-Camera Acting Lessons: 1. Get to know each other 2. Basics of On-Camera Acting 3. Scene Study:...
Each student will have an individualized experience, since we are working 1:1. They will get personalized feedback when it comes to acting out scenes, using emotion, and character building. They will also learn how to better take direction.
For theatre and communications, I double-majored in Journalism/Theatre & Drama at university, and have a day job as a medical actor that requires giving and receiving feedback to med students. I've taught lots of theatre camps and after school classes, and regularly teach improv now online. I have lots of experience in commercials, auditioning for professional TV shows/films, and writing/producing my own scripts. I do have an "on-camera" agent and am always open to answering questions about the film industry. I first was a theatre actor before I did film, so I can work well with students who have that same background-- in teaching them how to transition from stage to on-camera acting. During COVID, I have "self-taped" auditions almost every week, and can teach students how to master that skill. While in Chicago, I've auditioned for movies, Chicago P.D., Chicago Med, and Chicago Fire, as well as various commercials.
Please have your camera on and ready for this class!
55 minutes per class, and maybe some time outside of class.
I write all my own materials, and also may show my own commercials that I've acted in. We may look at a couple YouTube commercials as well.
