Homework
1-2 hours per week. For learning an instrument, I recommend about 15 - 30 minutes of practice or more, 3 to 5 days per week. The more days you practice and review lesson material, the faster you will level up your skills.Assessment
I will informally assess your level, and let you know how you did during the lesson. If you choose to go on, with me, and take more lessons, your progress will be evaluated as you go.Class Experience
Get $4 off my classes with coupon code CYAKESONG4 until Oct 11, 2024. Look through my classes at https://outschool.com/teachers/Michele-Yake and enter the coupon code at checkout. This class is for the novice beginner, up to the intermediate student. It is a single meeting class, but you are welcome to take the class again. When you take the class again, we will continue where we left off at the previous class. For beginners, then we will start with the basics and learn a couple of simple songs. If you are more advanced, then I will assess your level at the beginning of class, and then we will do some songs that are at your level. No prior guitar experience is required. Experienced guitar players, at the intermediate level are welcome. I will work with you, at your current level. If you choose to continue, and take weekly lessons with me, through Outschool, then we will build on what you learned in this introductory lesson. You can let me know what your favorite music is and what your favorite songs are. I will work with you individually , to meet your interests and musical preferences. I welcome learners of all identities and backgrounds into my classes. The styles I teach are rock, pop, kids songs, blues, some classical and other styles as requested.
