Class Experience

In 1:1 private voice lessons we will learn the basics of singing and song structure. Learners will be introduced to breathing techniques, posture, basic diction and solfeggio. We will put these skills into action with the Hot Chocholate warm up song and Do Re Mi from "The Sound of Music". Singers will have a great time learning the hand signs that correlate with each solefeggio syllable Do Re Mi Fa Sol La Ti Do and master the pitches and lyrics. I will share song learning techniques such as isolating pitch, rhythm and lyrics for both accuracy and fluency of sound. Students will learn in the styles of classical, folk and musical theatre in 4 languages.
Learning Goals
Students will gain a better understanding of song structure, warming up the voice, breathing and technique as well as how to learn a basic song accuratly.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Music from St Mary's College of Maryland
Hello, I am Miss Stephanie and I teach Suzuki Piano, Voice and Ukulele. My undergraduate studies were at St. Marys College of Maryland and Graduate studies at Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.

I am certified in all books as a Suzuki Piano Instructor and spent 10 years singing with the Washinton National Opera at the Kennedy center in Washington DC, had my European Opera debut in 1999 in Lucca, Italy.

I believe all children can learn to be a musician through play and repetition. These skills will be well honed in my classes.

I like to help out at local shelters in my free time and live with 4 cats and 1 dog rescue...you may see them in class from time to time!
