Welcome to my violin studio! This violin lesson is designed for all levels of violinists, each week we will progress at the student's own pace. Students will learn basic violin playing, sight reading skills, learning new songs! Weekly breakdown for beginners students: Week of February 5th: Topic: Introduction, Parts of the Violin, Bow grip, Hold the Violin Week of February 12th: Topic: -Playing on open strings, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star song Week of February 19th: Topic: -Review Violin Posture, Bow grip practice, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star song variation Week of February 26th: Topic: Sounding Point, Martelé Violin Bow Stroke, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star song variation Week of March 5th: Topic: Fingers etudes practice, Ear training practice for rhythm, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star song variation Week of March 12th: Topic: Fingers etudes practice, String crossing, review Martelé Violin Bow Stroke Learning goals (For Beginners): - Parts of the Violin and strings - Instrument maintenance - Nice posture, bow grip/left-hand exercises - Basic music theory and notation comprehension - Violin techniques and practice methods - Rhythm and counting - Tuning - Music reading Learning goals (For Intermediate level): - Advanced Violin techniques, scales/etudes practices - Beautiful tone quality, method of finding overtone - Phrasing, building musicality, personal music taste explore - Advanced music history and background knowledge - Competition preparation, audition preparation Ms. Lo is an easy-going teacher, and my teaching style varies with each student but is generally relaxed and supportive. My goal is for your child to be successful on their instrument and feel confident when performing! Notes: Please read the cancelation policy carefully before enrolling in the class. 1. Suzuki Violin book 1 which is available from amazon 2. An appropriate sized violin with a shoulder rest or sponge 3. Rosin 3. Highly recommend using the computer to connect to Zoom for a better sound quality 4. Tunner (might be needed after 3 month)
