Hello there! I'm Mr. Matt, a passionate K-12 Certified Teacher residing on Treaty 1 Territory in Canada. Teaching has been my lifelong calling, and I'm thrilled to have found the perfect fit here on Outschool!
With a deep love for education and an unwavering passion for all the classes I offer, I bring an infectious enthusiasm to every learning experience. But what truly sets me apart is the amazing classroom setup I've built, born out of my passion for live streaming. It allows me to create engaging and interactive lessons that captivate students' imaginations.
My journey in education began with completing the 5-year Integrated Bachelor of Education/Arts Program at the University of Winnipeg. During my final year, I had the incredible opportunity to teach in Thailand, broadening my global perspective on education.
Over the years, I've taught a wide range of subjects, including ELA, math, science, social studies, health, art, and basic French, to grades 4, 5, and 6. Beyond the traditional classroom, I've also created and led various clubs such as the Rubik's Cube Club, Board Game Club, and Sustainability Club, fostering a well-rounded learning experience.
As an educator, building strong relationships with my students is a top priority. I strive to create a welcoming environment where everyone feels valued and supported. I believe in learning alongside my students, embracing technology, gamification, and embracing the power of making mistakes as valuable learning opportunities.
At Outschool, I'm excited to bring my passion for teaching to a diverse community of learners from all around the world. In the 2024/25 school year, I'll be offering curricular courses for grades 4, 5, 6, and 7. But for now, I can't wait to dive into our exciting clubs, where we'll explore Rubik's Cubes, Minecraft, and Portal using some really awesome virtual educational programs and experiences.
All types of learners are welcome in our class. So, join me on this incredible learning journey by signing up today! Together, we'll explore, discover, and grow as both learners and individuals!
