Hello welcome to my classroom! In this one on one class, students will be introduced to letters and their corresponding sounds through songs, games and engaging activities! I use highly interactive slides from the Joey's Koala curriculum to teach each lesson in a fun and entertaining way. I will start each class with a short review of letters we covered in the previous lesson. Then, we will listen to and sing a song related to the new letters we are covering in class that day. Afterwards, students will practice identifying each letter's name (for example: "Big A" and "Small a") and saying their sounds. Learners will also practice reading words that begin with the target letter's sounds (such as: "C is for cow") and playing interactive games for retention. We will continue this process from letters A-Z. Review games are included within my lessons and students will be continuously building upon what they have learned from previous weeks. Once students understand each letter sound, we can also begin to read simple CVC word (-at, -an, -am) families together and practice basic emergent reading skills (if requested). My approach with young learners is very patient and kind. I emphasize positive reinforcement as much as possible and let the students know that their hard work is paying off. Throughout the class, students receive lots of praise—words like "Good work! You're doing great! Excellent job!"—to keep them motivated and confident in their progress. If you're interested in this class and do not see a time that works with your schedule, please send me a message. I will do my best to accommodate to when your child is available to take classes. I hope to see your child in my classroom soon! Thank you!
