US Grade 2 - 5

One-on-one private Math tutoring for Grades K-7. Tutoring will consist of Homework help, textbook & workbook problems. Students are welcome to bring outside questions to this class. I will break down the problem step-by-step, give them strategies to tackle complex problems, and encourage independent exercise, I will not allow "just give me the answer" as I believe that will harm the student in the long run and they would not have learned the concept. I will share my whiteboard and we will utilize the whiteboard and annotate tool on Zoom to work out our problems on the screen, or they can share their screen with the homework questions on it. If homework is completed before the session ends, I will provide additional worksheets or problems to solve to see if the student has grasped the concept. 

I can work with the student on topics ranging anywhere from Counting to 10s, Place Value, Addition and Subtraction, Multiplication (two and three digits), Integers, Coordinate Planes, Linear Relations and Linear Equations, Area and Volume, Similar Figures, Ratios, Proportions, to Inequalities.

Hi, my name is Maryam Moeen, I’ve earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and 2 Entrepreneurship Certificates from the University of Houston, which I earned in 2023. I also received professional training through MyTutor Learning.

I have significant experience working with and teaching children and teenagers. I’ve always loved working with kids, so while in 10th grade, I started working in Kumon. I was responsible for tutoring children between the ages of 6 years to 18 years. In 12th grade, I started volunteering at a local Sunday school, where aside from assisting & mentoring a class of 35 students/week, I would often substitute for permanent teachers when they were unavailable. I also volunteered as a teacher for the Math club at school every Friday for 1 year. I currently work as a tutor online for MyTutor Learning and at an in-person academic institution for children between 7 and 15 years old.

****According to the Class recording policy of Outschool: ''Enrolling in class does not guarantee access to class recordings - they are shared at each teacher's discretion. " 
I keep the discretion TO NOT SHARE THE RECORDINGS if two or more learners were following the meeting by default.  Exceptions are possible. However, I would be happy to share the recording of any 1:1 class.
