Description

Class Experience

By the end of this course, the student should have a good grasp of programming concepts and how to use them to design and create projects.

They will...
     • Learn programming vocabulary
     • Learn how to use costume, sound, and code blocks
     • Learn how to incorporate extension tools
     • Learn how to use sensing commands, conditional statements, and cloning
     • Create interactive stories, animations, music, and art projects
There may be optional homework if the student wants to review and complete what was covered in class or add additional code to the project.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
An internet connection and laptop or desktop computer are required to complete the projects. Students will be given instructions on how to set up their free Scratch account in the sign up document. This document is listed in the "Welcome" post. Please walk through the setup with your child to help them get their accounts set up before the first class.
