I offer specialized one-on-one English Language Arts and Social Studies tutoring for elementary through high school. My goal is to equip students with all the skills necessary to read and write effectively, even beyond the scope of their ELA courses. Students will improve their reading comprehension, writing, grammar and vocabulary through an individualized academic plan.
I am a certified teacher and have been teaching English Language Arts and Social Studies to middle school and high school students for the past 12 years. In addition, I have a Masters degree in Teaching with a concentration in English Language Arts and History, as well as, Reading Intervention. Also, I am a published author and beta writer for other published authors in both academic writing and fiction writing.
Students may be assigned reading, writing, vocabulary or grammar assignments to complete between classes.
Each student will be progressed monitored and receive formative assessments to determine mastery of skills targeted in class.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
With parent consent, we will use No Red Ink website for grammar practice and News ELA website for articles and class assignments. No Red Ink can be used with a class code and News ELA can be accessed with an existing Google account or with a class code.
