The main goal is for all students to improve grammar, sentence diagramming, and formal writing skills.  These skills will help students grow towards more challenging writing assignments with improved confidence. 

I believe great writers read great books.  My passion is to teach beginner writers how to find their written voice and appreciation of the written word.  I have been teaching formal writing methods in our homeschool and in co-ops for the past five years.  

Books are my love language.  I want your student to know the joy of reading deeply.  I want your student to examine, question, and think critically about what they read.  I want your student to know they can write confidently and understand that their words have meaning in this world.  This is why I teach.

There is no homework requirement for private tutoring sessions.  All assignments are given in the main semester course.  

There is no formal assessment in private tutoring sessions.  All grades are issued from the main semester course.  However, interval progress reports or written feedback will be provided.

30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
