In this ongoing, one-on-one private tutoring class, I will work with your child twice a week to help them come to understand and grow more fond of creative writing. As this class is designed around your learner, you can choose the focus of our material during each lesson. Some of the areas that I can help with are: grammar, punctuation, vocabulary and word choice, essay writing, letter writing, creative writing and the techniques involved in each. Students will learn the essential concepts...
Students will gain skills and abilities in specific writing aspects, expanding into new skills and strengthening what the student has already learned through one-on-one activities and guidance.
I graduated from California State University San Bernardino with a degree in Creative Writing, and have had my creative writing published in public literary magazines. I have taught English for the past 4 years both online and in brick-and-mortar schools. I am well versed in popular young adult novels, and as such can use these ideas to create a link between the learner and the book(s) that they are most interested in.
There will be optional homework that students may choose to do with parents or older siblings to practice what was learned in class
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
