Hello friends! This course is designed to effectively teach phonics and reading skills. I incorporate games, interactive activities, and learning types to keep students engaged. Depending on where your child is, we will cover letter sounds, cvc words, long and short vowels, blends, digraphs, high-frequency words, syllables, and reading strategies.

Our first session will be an informal assessment so that I can determine your child’s specific needs. My curriculum is broken into the following stages:

✏️Stage 1: Letter sounds

📚Stage 2: cvt words; high-frequency words, decodable readers

📓Stage 3: cvc words; high-frequency words, decodable readers

🖊️Stage 4: short and long vowels; high-frequency words, decodable readers

👩🏾‍🏫Stage 5: letter blends, digraphs, and long vowels; high-frequency words, decodable readers

📒Stage 6: Fluent readers: Reading comprehension, reading strategies, word chunking, vocabulary 

🍎🍏🍎After enrollment, please send me a message with the following information:

-your child’s strengths as a reader
-areas where they need support
-likes/interests/hobbies (for example their favorite characters, shows, animals, sports, etc) 

A specific weekly plan will be provided upon enrollment and after student assessment. If your student needs to work on a specific skill not listed above, after assessing, I will design a specific plan for them.

Bachelor's Degree in Education from Florida International University

Hello! My name is Ms. Tiffany and I reside in the sunny state of Florida. I hold a Masters degree in Reading and a Bachelors in Elementary Education from Florida International University. 

I have been teaching children for over twenty years. I spent ten of those years teaching kindergarten, but have also taught first and second grades. I am well versed in what students need to know to be prepared for each grade level. In addition to that, I have worked as a reading teacher for students in grades 3 through 5. My strengths are preparing students to meet the core standards in reading and writing. Also, I have worked as a one-on-one tutor for students ranging from preschool to high school.

I believe in making the learning environment fun and engaging for my students. Each student will feel special and welcomed in my classroom. Students should be challenged and motivated to reach higher expectations.

When I am not teaching, I am writing and publishing books for children and young adults. I have written almost fifty books and am currently working on the next one. I can't wait to pass my love for  math, reading, and writing on to your learner. Thank you for taking the time to read about me. See you in the classroom!
