Class Experience

US Grade Preschool - 5
Beginner Level
Welcome to one on one tutoring. In these lessons, I will provide personalized and relevant lessons that will help the learner gain new skills as well as confidence in the selected area.

In our first meeting, I will assess the learner and their skills, then use the information to create a lesson plan for the learner, which will be approved by the parent. From that point on, I will be in constant contact with the parents as we work towards goals that both the parent and learner have. After each class, I will send a detailed report on what skills were practiced and how the skills can continue to be worked on at home.

During class, we will use a variety of materials from games and worksheets to reading dramatically. My goal is to create an engaging lesson that students enjoy while bringing their skills to the next level. I believe that through communication and fun, engaging lessons, our goals can be met.

Examples of tutoring materials:
Reading dramatically to improve comprehension and reading skill. Optional homework such as drawing a picture of the learners favorite scene can be given to reinforce comprehension.
In public speaking learners will work on speaking on various topics either of their choice or given at the time of each lesson. We will work through various public speaking skills to ensure learner is confident in their speaking skills and able to deliver their materials with ease.
With creative writing we will cover grammar, word choice, story and character building as well as story layout to ensure a student’s creative writing skills. We will also view poetry and other works of literature to help spot necessary aspects in creative writing.
All of these materials will be prepared specifically for your learner as their needs are met and addressed. Homework is optional and can be added as time and necessity allows.

If another time is needed, other than the times listed, please feel free to send a message and I will do my best to work with requests.

Profile
Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in English from Southern New Hampshire University
In 2018, I graduated from SNHU with a degree in English and Creative Writing. I have since used that degree and all that I learned throughout to pair with my studies of Early Childhood development. Through my 14 years of teaching I have helped learners find joy in lessons by making not only the materials themselves fun but show them how learning can continue in the outside world. It is my goal to always make learning fun and engaging, as it is the best way for anyone to learn.
