Class Experience
I will help learner's improve their overall knowledge of the Spanish language. I offer one-to-one personal tutoring sessions for students in need of extra support in learning the Spanish language. I focus on: -expanding Spanish vocabulary -expanding academic language in Spanish -improving pronunciation -improving reading comprehension -introducing key grammatical structures and verb tenses (present, past (preterite and imperfect), future, conditional, present and imperfect subjunctive, the...
Learners will improve their use and understanding of the Spanish language.
I am a New York State certified public school teacher with certifications in Spanish, Italian and TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). I also have my FLES extension to teach Spanish at the elementary level. I have over sixteen years of classroom experience teaching Spanish at the middle school and high school levels. I teach Spanish for the International Baccalaureate (IB) program at both the SL and HL levels. Some of my high school students earn college credit through the coursework they complete with me.
Homework will be offered on a weekly basis and is encouraged but not required.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
55 minutes per class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
My classes include interactive activities for students to complete as we proceed through each lesson. I utilize Nearpod, Pear Deck, EdPuzzle. Kahoot and Jamboard activities to further students' comprehension and communication skills. To participate in these interactive activities, students will only need to click on session links that I post for them in the Zoom chat during our live meetings. No personal information will ever be required of students in order to participate in these activities and they will not have to create accounts within any of these external resources in order to participate during class.
