Description
Class Experience
In this ongoing class, the learner will focus on phonological awareness, guided reading and writing skills. How is the instruction of the class structured? *The first class scheduled with be to assess the learners current level of reading performance by completing a variety of quick assessments. Ongoing classes: 1.We will begin the instruction of class with a review of letter names and letter sounds by singing a song and/or the use of flashcards displayed on paper or on a powerpoint...
Students will learn and/or reinforce reading and writing skills to grow as a learner as documented by informal and formal assessments in this ongoing class.
General Education and Special Education Teacher with 10+ years experience teaching face to face and online students. Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and a Masters Degree in Special Education. Published children's book author. Curriculum developer. Academic data evaluator.
Students will be given a worksheet or passage that supports what they worked on in the class to complete on their own time. It will be short and take about 15 minutes to complete. Students are encouraged to read and write between classes! This is optional.
Paper Pencils Crayons White Board and Dry Erase Marker Notecards/Flashcards *(Possibly) Worksheet of letters printed and cut out prior to class (emailed 48 hours before class)
Informal assessments are completed while the student is learning for the instructor to adjust the learning as needed in the class. Formal assessments are used to progress monitor the student every 4-6 classes to share growth and/or areas of concerns with the families.
25 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
