Description
Class Experience
At the end of this one-time class, my goal is that you will start to see the world a little differently when you put your camera to your eye. I hope that you will start seeing in stories and moment-driven photographs instead of just what’s in front of you. I want students to be able to take their photography to another level beyond just shooting what's in front of them and waiting for a moment to unfurl.
I have been a photojournalist in mulitple cities for over ten years. I am well versed in the stories that I cover and have a BFA in photojournalism, along with minors in anthropology, sociology, and international relations.
Homework would be to submit their own favorite storytelling images that they take implementing lesson theme discussed at the last tutoring session.
20 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
Some of the photographs shown in the slideshows may show societal issues, such as homelessness and poverty.
