Beginner - Advanced Level

Whether you're just picking up the guitar for the first time or aiming to refine your skills to an advanced level, my one-on-one guitar lessons are tailored to meet your unique needs.

Beginner Students: Start your musical journey with a solid foundation. Learn essential chords, strumming patterns, basic scales, and easy songs to build your confidence and rhythm. We’ll also cover reading sheet music and tabs, and understanding basic music theory and how it applies to the guitar.

Intermediate Students: Take your skills to the next level! Work on more complex chord progressions, fingerpicking techniques, CAGED system chords and scales, triads, and improvisation. explore strumming patterns, and delve deeper into music theory, including scales, intervals, and chord construction. I'll tailor lessons to help you hone in your playing style and genre preferences.

Advanced Students: Master advanced techniques and concepts such as advanced scales and how advanced-level music theory applies to the guitar including modes, arpeggios, intervals, advanced jazz chords, and harmonization of the scales. We’ll focus on refining your technique, and improvisation, along with challenging compositions. Whether you’re looking to compose your own music or perfect your playing style, these lessons will help you achieve your musical goals.

Teacher expertise and credentials

To highlight some of my training and experience, I am a graduate of the Atlanta Institute of Music and Media with an Associates Degree in Music and Technology, a previous performing musician, and a guitar teacher since 2015. Most of my professional career has been in teaching private and group lessons, performing in corporate/wedding bands and churches in the south east, and working as a session guitarist. I have taught children ages 6-14 in private and group lessons for about a decade. Outside of music, I also have experience working with children as a karate instructor for 2 years, and as a church Sunday school teacher for 4 years in Georgia.
