Description
Class Experience
Come join me with a little juice or tea and definitely a snack as we enjoy some poetry together! We will begin with greetings and students can share their personal pieces of poetry they may have created or inspiring work they have found. If there are not many interested in sharing we may discuss a relevant ice breaker to guide us into the theme of the week. During this class students will be exposed to classic poetry as we discuss how they use different elements to convey their feelings and...
Students will listen to poems and learn how to discuss them with peers in addition to participating in a learning extension activity that goes with the poem.
Students can do optional learning activities if they wish, including their own poems or artwork inspired by the poems we will be reading together each week.
Generally, most students will need access to crayons/ colored pencils/ markers/ water colors, paper, pencils, erasers, children scissors, glue sticks, their own cup of tea or drink. Some weeks there may be a print out to assist with the activity or craft we will be working on. Dress up clothes are optional, but encouraged to add to the fun element of a fancy princess poetry tea time.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Learner progress is assessed through their participation in class discussions and the enrichment activity.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Students may need assistance setting up their tea and snack before class. Some learners may need assistance with cutting or with the craft. This will be at the parent's discretion.
All poetry used in this class are apart of the Public Domain.
