Class Experience

In this class, I will keep your child engaged by using a princess theme to teach segmenting and blending short e word family CVC words. Learners will come to class dressed as a princess (they can choose to simply wear a crown or go all out with a full costume).
Outline of each class:
-Each class will begin with student sharing about a princess of their choice. Students will get to share two things about a princess they love or a princess movie they love.
-The assigned letter sounds will be reviewed.
-We will then have a show- and- tell portion where students will show one item from their "princess purse" (it can be any bag) that begins with the assigned letters.
-We will discuss these two sounds then blend those sound to make a word family ending (such as _ed).
-We will use our magic wands and princess powers to magically change the word by just changing one sound!
-By the end of class, students will have segmented and blended several words in the word family.
-Students will be encouraged to use their princess powers and magic wands to find _at words in books they have at home. They will bring their words to the next class to share.
