Class Experience

This is a fun class for anyone who loves princesses! Join me in my magical classroom to make a fun princess craft! I believe that children learn best through hands-on activities. We will be making a castle pencil holder using construction paper or scrapbooking paper along with tubes from toilet paper and paper towel rolls. I will guide the students step-by-step while making the craft. (They will most likely need some adult assistance.)

Upon enrollment, you will be able to print out the pattern. To find the pattern, click on the classroom tab. You will see the welcome announcement. The link for the pdf will be directly below the welcome announcement.

Please print out the pattern before class. You can either print it on the paper you will be using, and then cut it out. Or you can print it on white paper. If you print it on white paper, please trace it on your construction paper or scrapbooking paper and then cut out the pieces.

Students are encouraged to wear their favorite princess dress or costume. They can wear an art smock or T-shirt if they wish.

Learning Goals

Aside from practicing listening skills, students will cut, glue, tape, and paint. These are all tasks that will strengthen their fine motor skills.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is Kimberly. I teach classes that involve hands-on learning and creative projects. I believe that students learn best when they are actively engaged in the lesson. Most of my classes are geared toward preschool and elementary aged children. My hope is that my students enjoy learning and become lifelong learners.

I graduated from Ball State University with a degree in elementary education. In 2001, I decided to begin homeschooling my daughter who was 3 years old at the time. Since then, I have homeschooled all five of my children. Additionally, I teach Sunday school and a variety of classes at our homeschool co-op, including kindergarten, an escape room class, and sewing. I am also an online ESL teacher and teach English to children in China.

In my free time, I enjoy baking, sewing, and traveling. I hope to see you in the classroom! :-)
