Welcome Little Ballerinas! This is a beginners baby ballet ongoing class, where we will introduce the children to basic ballet steps and terminology at Primary level. No dance experience is necessary and this class will be a gentle introduction to the world of ballet, and all mixed in with some active and 'silly' dancing games and exercises! We will dance to wide variety of music to develop the students musical awareness and rhythm. The class will be structured in the following way ; high energy physical warm up dance, a series of follow along exercises such as hands, legs, good toes naughty toes, knee bends etc, moving exercises such as skips, marches & gallops and ending the class with some fun dance games, and freestyle dancing! Each week we will follow a similar structure and continuously swap out different exercises so each class will be completely individual but working on the same core ballet technique!
Learning Goals
Children will learn the basic Primary level ballet positions and movements including First Position, Plies, Tendus, Spring Points, Skips, Marches, Running and more. Students will develop an understanding of basic ballet terminology and begin to work on their technique and proficiency in the subject. As this is an active, physical class, students will also be working their co-ordination, cardiovascular fitness, spacial and body awareness, flexibility and strength. Our exercises will be set to music, so students will also be increasing their musical awareness, rhythm and musicality. On top of that, the class will encourage students to develop their own creativity and imagination as well as being a friendly, warm space for them to make new friends and socialise together.

Parental Guidance
As this is a physical class, please ensure adequate space for your child to move freely without any obstacles or hazards. Ensure your child is wearing comfortable clothing which allows them to move and dance without restriction and please ensure they attend class with some water so that can stay refreshed and hydrated during class.
Supply List
Ballet uniform such as leotards, tutus and ballet shoes are encouraged but not necessary by any means! As long as your child is comfortable and able to move!

My name is Emma and I am a professional theatre performer and experienced teacher in all areas of the performing arts. I teach a wide range of classes in all disciplines including ballet, musical theatre, jazz dance and more! My aim as a teacher is to nurture the children's creativity and passion for performing arts as well as developing technique and skillsets which they can carry with them in many areas of their life, not just on the stage! First and foremost, I want my students to HAVE FUN! This will allow them to develop a love for the performing arts, just like I have myself, as I believe this is fundamental key to learning any performance based skills. Performance art needs to come from a place of genuine love, and inspired creativity and this is what I hope to instil in my students. Whether they are looking to eventually study the arts as a career, or simply just let their hair down to their favourite dance track after a long day of school, I hope to provide students with a creative outlet and friendly learning environment, suitable for all ages and abilities, so what are you waiting for ?
