Class Experience

US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 2
Welcome to our Princess And Friends Geography Class!
This is an interactive class where students learn about where each princess and character is from!

Together we will learn where each country is and how we could possibly travel there from where we live. Can we fly in a hot air balloon, ride in a car or take our bicycles there? Students will decide what the best mode of transport will be to get where we need to go!

Next, we will discover what each country is like. The content of each each country vary depending on time and students interests.

Topics we will discuss can include:
-History of the Story and Setting: How old is this story, where is the place it is based on?
-The flag of each country: Is this similar to any other flags that we have seen and how?
-Language spoken: Let's learn a few words in their native language!
-Famous landmarks: The history of these landmarks
-Animals in the country: Students are welcome to share if they know any facts about these animals. Would we want to live where these animals reside?
-Food: Dessert options are always the most popular with students! Would we like to try this food for ourselves?
-Music: We may hear a section of song from their culture.
-Architecture: What style of homes and schools are there?

I love having students join in and share their knowledge of each country with the class if they wish! Many students enjoy bringing a notebook to class to draw the flag of the country we are studying but it is not a requirement!
This is a class that packs a lot of information into each half hour. Often students will like to repeat the classes when a new rotation begins so that they can learn even more new things about each country!

Welcome!
When students are interested in what they are doing, learning they will WANT to learn! I hope that your students will love to learn and become lifelong learners. I want all children to feel comfortable, engaged, encouraged and have fun in my classes I have worked with students from ages 0-14 for over 20 years. I have held several other jobs than teaching which I adored but at this point this is my passion.

My teaching experience comes from multiple sources. Online I have taught thousands of children overseas to learn English through VIPKid. VIPKid (now VIPTeacher) is known for their vigorous standards and training. I have also taught for an elite online program, called Synthesis. Synthesis is an elite program created by the one of the founders of Ad Astra. (Ad Astra is the school that Elon Musk created at SpaceX.) I have also taught thousands of children right here on Outschool since 2020.

Offline teaching experience comes from teaching at a Montessori pre-school, teaching swim and gym classes, summer camps and Sunday school. I also have taught students with a wide range of mental and physical abilities. All students are welcome in my classes and I am willing to make accommodations if requested.

My education consists of a BA in psychology, a BA in Conflict Resolution, TESL, TEOFL, over 40 online teaching certificates, mental health first aid certification, and palliative care certification.

I have two children who are everything to me. I homeschool them and we love going on adventures together. In my spare time I love travelling, baking, camping, Disney, swimming, the beach, water activities, working out, reading and all things full of sparkle and glitter! You can always find me taking a course or earning some kind of certificate.

Come join me and let's have an adventure together!
