In this class young artists will draw a prince or princess themed self-portrait. Students will follow clear step-by-step instruction as they learn to draw basic facial features The instructor will check for understanding to ensure each young artist feels successful and supported. This lesson will challenge budding artists to develop drawing skills as they use line and shape to make eyes, ears, nose, mouth, neck, hair, and a crown! Young artists will also enhance their drawing skills by learning to enhance the meaning of a drawings by adding detail “clues” to show they are royalty such as fancy jewelry, royal clothing and crowns! By the end of this lesson, students will... *Be introduced to the word "self-portrait" *Learn to use shapes and lines to draw facial features *Create a satisfying self-portrait of themselves as a prince or princess Learners should come prepared with: **Paper **Pencils (extra pencils are great incase a tip breaks!) **A good eraser- we make mistakes as we learn! **Crayons if you finish early and are able to add color! Optional: Feel free to add special embellishments such as rhinestones and gems, but you do not need them to participate in the class!
