It is the key to your future. How to you even get started? With the help and guidance of private tutoring. As a professional tutor, I will guide you through the process of writing your College Admissions Essay. I have developed a pathway you can follow culminating in a solid essay. No matter where you are on your path, I will help you to reach your goal, and actually enjoy the process. I can help you if you are just starting out, if you are stuck and can't find your way forward, if you just need someone to help you polish your almost-completed essay, and even if you don't have a clue. Your college essay is about YOU, but you shouldn't write the same boring story you have told for years. I will help you write an outstanding essay that reflects you. I will help you brainstorm ideas for your essay, narrow them down, outline your essay, and guide you through the writing and editing process. What I won't do it write your essay for you. That would be cheating. We will work together during our sessions to overcome obstacles and clear the path forward. At the end of each session, you will have a well-defined set of tasks to complete before our next session. Most students complete the process in 6-12 weeks, but our sessions can be open-ended until you have your perfect essay. I look forward to getting to know you and working with you on your Essay. Note: The writing process will take at least two months. Early admissions are often due in November while regular admissions are usually due in January or February. If you are looking at early admissions, you should sign up for tutoring in August or September of your Senior Year. If you are looking at regular admissions, I suggest you sign up in September or October as the holidays often interfere with tutoring sessions.

Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from Minors: Biology, Chemistry, and Writing
Hello. I am Annette the Teacher. I can't wait to teach you here on Outschool.
My educational philosophy is to foster the growth and knowledge of my students through personalized, project-based, and collaborative learning. I believe in nurturing every student's quest for knowledge through Activity-Based Learning. Learning should be fun. My classes are based on hands-on learning projects. In my classes, you get into the action with experiments, activities, projects, crafts, cooking, and more.
I have been teaching for many years. I have over three decades of experience teaching children of all ages. I have a B.A. in Sociology with minors in Biology, Chemistry, and Writing from the University of Pittsburgh. I have homeschooled my children from Pre-School through their High School graduations. All of my classes are interactive. I encourage students to fully participate in class. My classes feature hands-on activities, books, and worksheets I write for the class. No matter the subject, my classes get the students involved.
I have been working as a tutor for 10+ years.
I am a writer and artist. I use my extensive knowledge and experience to create unique classes for every student. I enjoy teaching science, history, and art classes. I bring history alive with my "Big History ..." classes where students learn about key times in history through interactive lessons and projects. "Paint like ... Famous Artists" art classes where students learn about famous artists and create their own artwork based on the artists' works. "Smart Science" classes where we explore science and complete experiments and projects. I know hands-on, interactive experiences are the best way for children to learn.
I also have experience working with Special Needs children. I am Mom to a child on the autism spectrum and a child with serious medical needs and ADHD. If your child has special needs, please contact me so I can work with you and your child.
I can't wait to share my lifelong love of learning with you. There is so much knowledge out there, come and discover it with me!
