Primus Science Preschool: Insects & Make a Bug Hotel
What's included
1 live meeting
35 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
Learn about insects in today's Primus Science Preschool class. We will explore the hidden world all around - the world of insects. Learn about insects and how they live. For today's project we will make an insect hotel. Primus Science Preschool Drop-In classes are science classes designed for young students ages 3-6. Students will explore the world around them while learning basic scientific principles and doing a fun, preschool friendly, hands-on science project or experiment. Every Primus Science Preschool class starts with a virtual circle time where we will have an interactive conversation about the science topic of the day. I use models, pictures, and videos to enhance the learning experience. Students are encouraged to ask questions and participate in class. We will do a fun, preschool hands-on science project or experiment during the second half of the class. A Primus Science Preschool Drop-In class is scheduled at the same time every week. No need to sign up for an ongoing class. Pick and choose the classes you are interested in or come to all of them. Supplies for Primus Science Preschool projects are usually things you have around the house or inexpensive items that can be purchased at a grocery store, dollar store, or discount store. Projects are preschool-friendly, but some students may still need assistance depending on their age and ability. (You know your child best. See the notes about the experiment to decide if your student will need assistance.) We will be making an Insect Hotel in today's class. Materials for this class: 1 or 2 plastic water bottles with BOTH ends cut off (An adult will have to carefully cut off both ends of the bottle PRIOR to the class) Gathered dried twigs and leaves (enough to fill the bottle) 2-3 feet of string
