Description
Class Experience
The learner will read and play notes on the treble staff and bass staff in C position. National Music Standard • MU:Pr6.1.2a Perform music for a specific purpose with expression and technical accuracy.
Younger students may need help with practice and activities. Week 1 - Dr. Forster, Who's Tapping at My Window Week 2 - Purple Cow, Jack Be Nimble, Rhythm Connect Week 3 - Lucy Locket, Mary Had a Little Lamb, Color That Note Week 4 - Brother John, Hokey Pokey Week 5 - Alouette, Musette Week 6 - Final Performances and Review Game
Learners need a piano/keyboard, binder or folder, and a pencil. Downloadable materials will be provided each week through the Nearpod lesson.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Learners will be informally assessed on demonstration of basic piano skills. Learners will for formally assessed on identifying notes on the bass staff and identifying note values through 2 activity sheets.
No live meetings, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
