Description
Class Experience
The learner will read and play notes on the treble staff and bass staff in C position. National Music Standard • MU:Pr6.1.2a Perform music for a specific purpose with expression and technical accuracy.
Learners will be given a practice log to record their practice between lessons. Younger students may need help with practice and activities. The pacing of this class may be adjusted as needed. Week 1 - Practice C position left hand and "Dr. Foster" Week 2 - Practice "Who's That Tapping at My Window?" Week 3 - Practice "Purple Cow" and Complete "Color that Note" activity Week 4 - Practice "Jack Be Nimble" and complete "Rhythm Connect" activity Week 5 - "Lucy Locket" Week 6 - Final Performances and Review Game
Learners need a piano/keyboard, binder or folder, and a pencil. Downloadable materials will be provided.
Learners will be informally assessed on demonstration of basic piano skills.
25 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
For this class, videos will be posted to a practice page on my Weebly website. Only learners in this class will have the link to the page. All the demonstration videos are recorded by me and uploaded to my website (not posted on another platform). Occasionally, I will embed videos that are posted elsewhere to facilitate understanding of the content.
