8 live meetings
4 in-class hoursHomework
1-2 hours per week. This course does require a commitment to practice throughout the week between classes. The idea is to: play your songs! Outside of pressure to sit for a specific amount of time, an encouragement to review the songs through 2-3 times each, 3-4 days a week, will make for not only progress, but a confident learner who will have fun sharing what they now know! Students will WANT to show off what they have learned! I only say - PLAY MORE MUSIC!Assessment
I will give verbal feedback to students during their daily class as well as following classes as needed. I will also message you individually as I want to keep you, as the parent or guardian, aware of how your child is doing in class. This is a team effort it being sure your child is getting the most out of their time in piano class.Class Experience
W⃣ E⃣ L⃣ C⃣ O⃣ M⃣ E⃣ 🚨 FALL SECTIONS NOW OPEN! Please fill out the "Request a Time" if you do not see one that works with your schedule. I can't wait to meet your learners soon. 𝗣𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲: This is for those continuing from "Primer Part 1: Piano Adventure Beginner Course" of our Fun + Interactive Introduction to Piano OR for those who have some beginning piano experience that covered: 🎵 Basic Rhythm (Quarter, Half + Whole Notes) 🎵 Finger Numbers 🎵 White Key Notes (A,B, C, D, E, F, G) 🎵 Beginning Technique 📖 We begin in Unit 4; Page 34 of the “Faber Piano Adventures Lesson Book.” ❗️ You must have a book from the first class❗️ Link to book: https://tinyurl.com/PrimerLessonBook Along with our songs, each class will give time for students to learn and as well as perform for their class. We will continue to cover and review the basics: - Notes on the piano - Rhythm - Music Vocabulary - Reading basic music - Treble Clef 𝗖𝗟𝗔𝗦𝗦 𝟭: Review our final pieces from "Primer Part 1: Introductory Piano Course" 𝗖𝗟𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗘𝗦 𝟮-𝟳: Continue through our studies together in the Primer Lesson Book of "Faber Piano Adventures" 𝗖𝗟𝗔𝗦𝗦 𝟴: Class Performance of their favorite pieces 🎵 Presentation of Part 2 Certificates 🎉 Game time 🎼 𝗗𝗘𝗧𝗔𝗜𝗟𝗦: The course is structured around the concept that children learn music through immersion! Your child will be given the opportunity to hear me play to model how their pieces go. We will then discuss the songs as they use "visual analysis" in understanding what is happening in the music. This allows the student to build their listening skills (ear training), sight reading (reading music), and creativity (applying musical knowledge to their piece!) ★BONUSES★ ① 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗢𝗥𝗬 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞𝗕𝗢𝗢𝗞 Students will be given a 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗘 theory workbook designed especially for each level. This will help to solidify concepts and check for understanding each week. ② 𝗣𝗥𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗖𝗘 𝗩𝗜𝗗𝗘𝗢𝗦 Following each class, there will be a practice video available for the learner to review the songs done in class. This is to support the learner in their journey for extra guidance throughout the week. ❗️🅸🅼🅿🅾🆁🆃🅰🅽🆃 ❗️ 🙏🏽 I ask that if this is your learner’s first class with me, please have an adult prepare to sit with our young learners (8 and under) for the first 2-3 lessons to ensure your child has the best possible start to their classes - as well as avoid any issues with technology in using Zoom or their keyboards + pianos. 📹 Practice videos will be available in the classroom each week for students' review of the material as well as full class recordings for missed classes. 🎓 For our final meeting, Class 8, we have a 𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘 as well as an 𝗘𝗦𝗖𝗔𝗣𝗘 𝗥𝗢𝗢𝗠 where the students work as a team to use what they've learned to crack the codes! You are welcome to join in off camera to celebrate our learners. 🚨 𝗣𝗥𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗖𝗘 𝗜𝗦 𝗥𝗘𝗤𝗨𝗜𝗥𝗘𝗗 🚨 Due to the nature of this course involving moving into more challenging material, developing a regular practice habit weekly is important for your learner’s success in the course. Please assist your learner with incorporating at least 3 days a week with the ability to play 3 times through each song. This short time will not only build confidence, but also help them as they learn this new "universal language" of music! 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲? If you are switching from another teacher or series, please message me and we will set up a private 1-1 intro class to properly place you through the 1-1 "Meet + Place" to see what the best fit would be for your learner. I look forward to journeying alongside your learner through the wonderful world of music! Material used in this course is composed, arranged, and written by Nancy and Randall Faber. Parental Guidance
Parents, I ask that you please sit with and observe your child for at least the first 4 weeks (entire course if age 7-8), to help guide our young learners, make sure that their camera's are set up properly, and so they are able to have you there to work out any issues that may arise.
This virtual world is very new for everyone, and my intention is that learners + parents have the most positive experience possible.
Students MUST have their camera on the entire time.
This is for:
1. The safety of all students.
2. For me to guide your child through their pieces best. Without being able to see them, it is not possible to assist them in playing to the best of their ability.
3. Please be sure that the camera has the student and piano in view. Again, this will allow for me to better help your child perform their best to correct any technique or questions accurately!

I have taught 1000+ students how to read and play piano music in the Group Piano format now for about 10 years. I find that students learn very quickly to become independent readers and musicians - plus have a great time learning alongside their peers!
