Class Experience
W⃣ E⃣ L⃣ C⃣ O⃣ M⃣ E⃣ Each week, over 150 students come to see me in this beautiful virtual world! 🎵 Every class, I help them understand concepts and have fun! Kids truly love learning, and I make the entire experience easy and pleasant for parents. 🅼🆈 🅶🅾🅰🅻: My goal is to help students have fun and see music as a game. My experience over the past fourteen years, both in the classroom and studio, has shown me that the best way to motivate someone is to make the learning process feel...
Students will be able to: Identify notes on the keyboard Count rhythm accurately Play basic piano pieces
I have taught 1000+ students how to read and play piano music in the Group Piano format now for about 10 years. I find that students learn very quickly to become independent readers and musicians - plus have a great time learning alongside their peers!
Playing through their pieces 15-20 minutes daily will ensure that they keep up with their class. - This is about 1-2 times through each piece Students will WANT to show off what they have learned! I only say - PLAY MORE MUSIC!

Here is an example of a tripod that would assist if using an iPad, Tablet or Phone: https://amzn.to/3sZbvux If needed, I will provide students with Digital Copies of the material we will cover in class for this first month (Classes 1-4 ONLY) Following the first 4 weeks, you must have your own copy of "Faber Piano Adventures" Primer Level Lesson Book. You can find on Amazon: https://amzn.to/3ykr0iL
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
I will give verbal feedback to students during their daily class as well as following classes as needed. I will also message you individually as I want to keep you, as the parent or guardian, aware of how your child is doing in class. This is a team effort in being sure your child is getting the most out of their time in piano class.
30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
1. I must be able to see your child at the piano to assist them with the pieces. An example of the camera position will be posted in the "Classroom" before the first class begins. 2. Music: must either be Printed or used with "Faber Piano Adventures Primer Lesson Book" (link found in materials) 3. I do ask that parents stay close by our learners for the first 2-3 lessons to ensure your child has the best possible start to their classes - as well as avoid any issues with technology in using Zoom or their keyboards. 4. I will communicate with you through the conversation part of Outschool! I like to celebrate as well as keep parents + guardians aware of the happenings in class to ensure we can work together to provide the best experience possible for your child! IMPORTANT: Students MUST have their camera on the entire time. This is for: 1. The safety of all students. 2. For me to guide your child through their pieces best. Without being able to see them, it is not possible to assist them in playing to the best of their ability. 3. Please be sure that the camera has the student and piano in view. Again, this will allow for me to better help your child perform their best to correct any technique or questions accurately! Also, parents I ask that you please sit with and observe your child for at least the first 4 weeks to help guide our young learners, that their camera's are set up properly, and so they are able to have you there to work out any issues that may arise.
If needed, I will provide students with Digital Copies of the material we will cover in class for this first month (Classes 1-4 ONLY) Following the first 4 weeks, you must have your own copy of: Your own copy of "Faber Piano Adventures" Primer Level Lesson Book.
