In this class students will learn more about human geography, a branch of geography. We will discuss how human activity affects the earth, how people live and interact with one another, and influences. Aspects of human geography can include: population, health, social, cultural, transportation, and economics. The two main features of human geography are the terrain and human societies. It is suggested that student take my semester geography course prior to taking this course so they are familiar with geography terms previously discussed, continents, and oceans but it is NOT required. The two classes can also be taken simultaneously. Class 1: Africa Class 2: Antarctica Class 3: Australia / Oceania Class 4: Europe Class 5: North America Class 6: South America Class 7: Asia Every class will include a project that we will do together in class. Parents will receive a list of materials that will be needed for class one-two weeks prior to class beginning. If items are not available, there will always be alternative suggestions that can be used as replacements or virtual options the students can do instead. These are choice activities to help enhance the learning and comprehension of the material. Teaching style: I enjoy getting all students involved in their learning, encouraging group conversations, and checking for understanding throughout the lesson. I use individual accommodations for each student as the class goes on, based on the needs of the individual.
