In this class learners will study a different core subject each meeting. In addition to public speaking, learners will study each of the following core subjects within a week's time; Math, English & Writing, and Science. The material in this class is based on second grade common core standards and will build upon each other over the course of the four weeks. Projects will be assigned for public speaking and learners will be asked to present their projects during the last class of the month....

This course will assist learners in mastery of second grade common core standards.
I am a state certified elementary teacher in the state of WV. I hold a Master degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and both a Bachelor and Associate degree in elementary education. I taught in the public school for ten years, substituted for two years, and spent six years working in a daycare center, summer camps, an after school program and tutoring. I have been teaching online for one year. I have attended a variety of professional development sessions and served on multiple school committees.
Learners may need to work outside of class on projects. Learners will be given optional practice work and resources for between meetings.
All materials will be posted on the classroom page at the start of each section A notebook is suggested for writing.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Learners will be assessed through observations, demonstrations and presentations.
3 hours 20 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
