Prevent the Summer Slide: Summer Review 2nd Grade-ELA/Reading
In this ongoing class, learners will review key concepts covered in second grade reading and writing skills, including fiction and nonfiction comprehension skills, phonics, sight words, writing, and grammar skills.

Description
Class Experience
Learners will review first grade skills to help prevent the summer slide in reading, writing, and phonics skills.
I have been a brick and mortar teacher for ten years teaching all elementary grades with a variety of learners, ages, abilities, and needs. I have worked with general education, exceptional needs, and ENL/ESL students over the years.
There may be some additional work for students to complete outside of class time.
Each week learners will be sent material to print out for class. Learners will also need the following items each time we meet: pencils, coloring materials, scissors, and glue.
Since this is a review class there won’t be any official assessment. Please reach out if you would like something sent to you.
2 hours 15 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
There may be use of scissors and glue during class. Tech usage: the websites may be used during class to allow the use of educational games. Please be nearby if any issues arise technology wise but make sure to stay off camera. This does not require any sort of account.
All information in this class will be from my ten years in the brick and mortar schools. The books will be sourced from the readinga-z website. The standards covered will be based on the common core curriculum.
