Based on James L. Swanson's excellent book, The President Has Been Shot!, which I used as an outline for this course. The book is intended as a supplemental reader for the class. This event, one of the most dramatic in U.S. history, has spawned popular conspiracy theories to explain Kennedy's assassination. This course will explore the events leading up to November 22, 1963, the assassination of President Kennedy, the manhunt, and the effects on American Society.
I have taught U.S. History to high school and college students. This course aims at a younger age group, and the book is a youth version of book that has an adult companion.

These events are disturbing, but no explicit video of the shooting will be viewed during the course. Students will learn of the Zapruder video that was recorded during the shooting, however, and they may become curious to view it on their own on Youtube.
