I am a public speaker and President of Toastmasters in my area. Public speaking is very enjoyable and I really enjoy teaching others to speak well in public. I compete in public speaking and always enjoy adding some funny into my speeches. No experience necessary the newer the better. My class will be able to help the learner improve ones public speaking skills or to help social anxiety situations.
I do assign homework each week. I ask each learner to write out a 2-minute speech for the second class and present it each week until they feel comfortable not using their notes. I encourage parents to practice with their learner to help them get comfortable. I highly encourage the learner to rewatch the video of the class to practice once or twice a week if possible. The more practice the learner has they will advance faster in the class. I am all about teaching the learners proper skills to speak of the cuff to prepared speeches. The more proper practice one has the better they will achieve the skills at hand.
1 file available upon enrollmentPrint out the speech outline to use in class Learns should have a note book and a pen. Water bottle to take a drink when needed.
Positive oral feedback will be given after each speech.
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Parental guidance is good to make sure the learner is focusing on the class and not talking out of turn. Mics will be muted but each learner will be able to talk in class when it is their turn to speak.
