Description
Class Experience
As an experienced Radio/Live/TV/Online/Video Presenter, Teacher, and Storyteller I have picked up lots of ideas, tips, and techniques about how to present myself. The fact that I started life as a very quiet, shy child is living proof that they really work too. In this multi-day class, we will look at how to present ourselves better, to improve public speaking, ready for class presentations, creating Vlogs, presenting YouTube content or Podcasts, building confidence, for wannabe...
This class is taught in English.
Learners will learn how to present themselves more professionally (verbally and non verbally) through tips, techniques, and personal anecdotes from a presenter across many media. Those that take part in the homework tasks will also get personalised feedback to help them progress further.
I am a fully qualified teacher (BAPA, PGCE) with 18 years of experience teaching Drama (and some Music, PSHCE, and English) to 11 to 15 years olds and Performing Arts to 16 to 18 year olds in bricks and mortar schools, where I currently still teach part-time, including running small group and 1:1 confidence building workshops. I also have many years of experience leading community workshop schemes (like create a play in a week) and local drama groups for ages 4 to 16. As a professional actress, I've performed to children from ages 2-14 in theatres, arts centres, social clubs, historical properties, nurseries, and schools. Playing roles such as the Gingerbread man and a tortoise, to a wartime headmistress and Queen Elizabeth the first! With lots of Q & A and interactive workshops along the way. I then branched into presenting (live, events, radio, some TV, and for holiday companies across Europe) including some Voiceover work. I currently create and present drama and presenter tuition videos. I have produced and directed many productions (musicals and plays) as well, including some I have written myself.
There will be a homework task set at the end of the first class for learners to prepare their own piece which they can share in the next class for detailed personalised feedback and support from Mrs. T.
Learners will be given on-the-spot feedback as we move through the different areas.
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
