Description
Class Experience
Learners can develop their public speaking/presenting skills through 5 days of tips, techniques, feedback and anecdotes.
I have worked as a live presenter (events, theme parks, holiday camps, and hotels), TV (an interactive channel), and a radio presenter (a classics show slot and breakfast show holiday presenter). I have also recently branched into creating and presenting drama teaching videos, presenting live in-person music and movement classes for under 5s, and podcasting. I am a fully qualified teacher (BAPA, PGCE) with 16+ years of experience teaching Drama (and some Music, PSHCE, and English) to 11 to 15 years olds and Performing Arts to 16 to 18 year olds in bricks and mortar schools, where I currently still teach part-time, including running small group and 1:1 confidence-building workshops. I also have many years of experience leading community workshop schemes (like create a play in a week) and local drama groups for ages 4 to 16. As a professional actress, I've performed to children from ages 2-14 in theatres, arts centres, social clubs, historical properties, nurseries, and schools. Playing roles such as the Gingerbread man and a tortoise, to a wartime headmistress and Queen Elizabeth the first! With lots of Q & A and interactive workshops along the way. I have produced and directed many productions (musicals and plays) as well, including some I have written myself.
Learners are encouraged to write their own fun version of the presenting script after class and prepare it for sharing in the next day's class.
2 hours 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
