Class Experience

In this ongoing class, learners will make handprint crafts. These range from alphabet crafts such as an apple, a bee, a zebra, to holidays such as a shamrock, bunny, tree, etc. Let's dive out hands in, get a bit messy, have fun and CREATE!

Painting is messy, eewy and gooey, but also something many parents are afraid of to do with their kids. This class uses washable paint that is easy to clean up with soap/water or a simple baby wipe. In this class learners will be able to watch the craft being done, have step by step instructions, me alongside them walking them through completing it themselves and helping them make a fun new craft to hang on the wall or the fridge each and every week.

Most crafts will take the same supplies listed below. If an additional item is needed it will be posted on Sunday for that upcoming week.

I firmly believe children learn best through hands on experiences and even better when they are having fun. What is more fun than PAINT and ART. Give them something to share with family, to display proudly around the house, to be happy about with their success.
So stop saying NO. Stop avoiding the mess and the paint. Let's dive our hands in, get a bit messy, have fun and CREATE!

A black sharpie

Brown crayon/ marker or colored pencil

Paint brushes- I like the 1” foam brushes. At least 2. And 1-2 smaller ones for finer work.

Paper plate

A bucket of soapy water and a rag or baby wipes to clean the paint off the hand and foot after applying to paper. I recommend baby wipes. They are easy, convenient, make the cleanup super simple.

Paper towels

Tablecloth or newspaper, cardboard etc to Protect your table.

May want an apron to protect your kids’ clothes.

Various other materials may be needed week to week. They will be listed on the classroom page.

Hi I’m Jennifer Burgard! I am a mother of 3; ages 20, 5 and 3 years old. I'm from Washington State. I'm so excited to meet all of you and welcome you to my classroom. I am a Certified Elementary Education teacher with a current and valid teaching certificate. I was a Special Education /Life Skills teacher for grades pre-k to 6th grade for 10 years. This included reading, writing, math, communication, social/emotional, daily life skills, etc. I have a BAE in Elementary Education with a Major in Reading and a Masters Degree in Special Education. I am very experienced with modifying and accommodating skills and curriculum to meet the students’ needs. I am also very good at motivating students to learn and getting them engaged. 1-1 and small group learning is my specialty.

I left the classroom in June 2019 and I now stay home and teach online and be MOM.

I have found I love being home with my children and being their very first teacher from a very young age as we learn through exploration and play. I believe children learn when they are having fun and are engaged. I do a lot with hands on toys, music, movement, play, etc. After being a special education teacher for 10 years I have found many creative ways to adapt learning to fit the learner and get them motivated.

I also enjoy hobbies such as crochet, scrapbooking, card making, etc. for over 18 years. I’m a teacher at heart and love to teach others to do what I love!

I can't wait to teach and have fun with your lovely learners; big or small!
