Are you looking for a social class for your preschooler or early elementary student? If so, this is a great place to be! This class will meet once a week to allow students the opportunity to participate in show and tell. Each week will have a different theme and students should try to find a show and tell item that fits the theme. To start class, each child will introduce themselves and answer our question of the day. We will then discuss social skills that will be needed to making sure the class runs smoothly. We will talk about waiting our turn to share, being respectful of the student that is talking and being an active listener. Students will be encouraged to ask questions about other show and tell items by raising their hand. This makes sure students aren't talking over each other and that everyone is able to be heard. After everyone has finished showing and telling about their item, we will go into coloring time for the remainder of class. Prior to each class, a coloring page relating to our show and tell theme will be posted in the classroom. Please print this out and have your student bring crayons/markers/etc. to class with them. Students will be free to chat and have discussion time while working on their picture. At the end of class, students will also have an opportunity to share their finished coloring page with the group, which is another opportunity to utilize those social skills. Weekly Show and Tell Themes: Week of May 13 - Favorite toy Week of May 20 - Farm Week of May 27 - Vehicles Week of June 3 - Zoo Week of June 10 - Bugs Week of June 17 - Stuffed Animal Week of June 24 - Sport Week of July 1 - Animal I look forward to meeting and working with your student soon!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is Lauren and I am excited to be teaching here on Outschool! I am looking forward to teaching early childhood development classes - preschool math, literacy, social skills and more! I have worked with children/students of all ages. My primary focus is with young children as I have a bachelors degree in elementary education (prek - 4th) which I obtained through Grand Canyon University. I have spent the last 10 years working in an early childhood development center, primarily working with children ages 2-4. During these last 10 years I have developed and implemented curriculum across many content areas. Aside from teaching, I am a color guard instructor at both the middle and high school levels.
I think learning is all about having fun, especially with the younger children! My experience of running an early childhood classroom will aide me in providing fun and engaging lessons here on Outschool as well!
When I am not coaching or teaching, I am busy being a wife and a mom! My husband and I have a seven year old son who is currently in second grade and an infant daughter. My older son is very involved in sports, which means I am too! I also enjoy reading, journaling, and watching tv.
I look forward to meeting and working with many young children on this journey!
