Class Experience

Does your student love princesses? Is your student eager to learn AND make new friends?

Join your favorite princesses while we learn our preschool core concepts like ABCs, colors, numbers, CVC words, phonics, shapes, calendar, steam skills, and more! Every week a different princess friend will join our class. We may even have a few other characters join as well. We will learn with interactive multisensory activities like singing, fingers plays, dancing, drawing, writing, and more! Upon enrollment, your student will receive a FREE printable "Circle Time Center" which includes flashcards for letters, letter words, colors, shapes, numbers, weather, seasons, and more!

✨Why is this class special?✨

Not many children can say their preschool teacher was a princess! And each week we will learn with a different Teacher Princess! With this class, you can make preschool not only a vital learning experience but a cherished memory they will remember the rest of their lives. I believe the fun and joy we have from make-believe can create an exceptional learning experience. It can help bring a lot of children out of their shells. It is not as scary to go to school if Rapunzel or Elsa is your teacher!

In this class, we will also work a lot on our social skills. In our class, our goal is not just to learn academics but also to gain essential social skills that will last your child throughout their lifetime. Our goal is to allow friendship to flourish in our happy and friendly learning environment. Each child will get multiple chances to participate and show their work in our class. The students will be encouraged to interact with one another by learning to ask questions and share interests.

This class also features small class sizes. My class has a maximum of 6 students to ensure that every child gets multiple chances to speak and share. It also ensures the teacher can give proper attention to every student. This means your child will get real individual attention and specialized focus.

I will also be able to work with each learner/parent directly and help our lessons focus better on the learner’s needs and interests. So your child will receive more specialized attention than larger classes can provide. At the end of each week, your child will receive a written update from the teacher showing their strengths and what they can continue to work on.

Each week we have a fun learning theme. Each day we will focus on a subject. Your child will become proficient in their full kindergarten prep curriculum, including English Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. I follow the Common Core Standards when creating my curriculum.

I use hands-on interactive multisensory learning in my classes. Studies show children learn best when they are using more than one sense at a time. We will use songs, movements, drawing, games, and more to make our lessons memorable.

🆓Free Resources🆓

Upon enrollment, the learner will receive a Free Printable Circle Time Center that they can print and use at home. This is the same Circle Time Center that the teacher will use in class. This Circle Time Center was made with love by Miss Emily herself!

This Circle Time Center includes:

📅The Day-to-Day Details📅

Each day we will begin with greetings and a hello song. Then we will answer a question based on the weekly theme.

Questions allow the learner to express themselves to both the teacher and their peers. It is also a way for the children to make friends! They will gain a lot of speaking confidence from these exercises! It will also help them to grow their patience level and learn to take turns well.

Next, we will review our calendar. 🗓 We may even talk about the weather. After, we will use our voice and body to practice our weekly song! This song will be learned on Monday and repeated daily for the rest of the week.

After that, we will begin to work on our subject of the day. We will use a variety of worksheets, fun dough, songs, stories, poems, fingerplays, exercises, games, and more to practice our daily subject.

Finally, we will say Goodbye with another song and happy wishes.

👩‍🏫| Review Everyday |✏️📚
My teaching philosophy includes as much repetition as possible. Did you know the reason Nick Jr. would repeat the same episode of Dora every day for a week is that children learn best with repetition? I take this same philosophy when I am teaching. Studies show repetition is the best way to teach young learners.

I aim to have as much repetition throughout the week as possible. Along with our daily subject and weekly theme, we will have a weekly letter, song, shape, and color that we will review every day for that week. For your child to receive the most benefit from this class, attending five days a week is optimal, though it is not required.

⚠️ Please Note ⚠️
Though this is a full year full curriculum class, the information is taught so it does not build off of the previous lessons. Because of this, you may join or leave this class at any time! This class will renew on Sunday, so parents will not be charged if they remove themselves before the Sunday of that week.

In this class, we will learn our weekly letter, shape, and color on a cycle. Once we have finished learning all 26 letters, we will begin again with the letter A. The same for colors and shapes. Repetition ensures mastery of the content.

👩‍🎓 After a full year of lessons, your child will have learned their Common Core Standards and much more. They will be ready for kindergarten and beyond. 🏫

I would be truly honored to welcome your learner to my classroom. I hope to see them there!

Parental Guidance
I believe every parent knows their child best, so it is up to the parent to decide if the child needs parental supervision for the entire class. You are welcome to assist your child during class if you wish. This is what I recommended with learners 4 and under. If you feel your child is capable of working independently you can step away for most of the class. If safety scissors are being used for a class, I ask that an adult be present to assist or supervise. We will also do some arts and crafts that may need some setup and assistance. You will be informed the Sunday before the class if we recommend adult help for a project.
Supply List
Worksheets will be provided on Sunday for the following week's class. If any art or craft material is needed we you will also be informed on Sunday. Worksheets can be printed or the child may use a whiteboard or paper as an alternative.

All worksheets and supplies are optional. But for an optimal learning atmosphere the learner should have the following:
Paper
Crayons
Safety Scissors (with parent's assistance)
Glue Stick
Fun Dough
Something Small to Count to 20
Worksheets
Whiteboard and Marker

If for any reason your learner does not have supplies during the lesson it is okay. I will tailor the lessons to each learner's needs as we move through the lesson.

Profile
Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University
Over the last two and a half years, I have delivered 9,000 English language lessons, aligned with Common Core Standards to students, ages 3-18, in the virtual classroom setting with the company VIPKID. More than three-quarters of those classes were with young learners aged students age 3-7. I have my TESOL certification as well as a B.S. In Organizational Leadership. I am a lifelong learner and often read different books and texts on early childhood development and learning. Currently, I am reading "The Most Important Year: Pre-Kindergarten and the Future of Our Children" by Suzanne Bouffard. It is a very compelling read.

Outside of education, have over a decade of acting and singing experience. I have performed as different princesses and other characters on stage and at children's parties and events. I have performed for thousands of children at my local children's theatre in roles such as "Nancy" from Oliver!

I think combining my teaching experience with my acting skills will make a very memorable and productive preschool experience for students. I am so excited to share my passion for education and make-believe with them. I have a lot of fun ideas to get your children excited to learn!
