Class Experience

US Grade Preschool
In this class, each meeting will focus on TWO different Valentine's Day STEAM activities. Each class will open with a show and tell of a different themed item each meeting to allow each learner a chance to talk and get to know their classmates (details will be posted in classroom prior to each meeting).

Day 1:
Heart "lava" lamp experiment and sensory play & Valentine thaumatropes
Day 2:
"Cupid's Tower" STEM challenge and "Dancing Hearts" experiment
Day 3:
"Candy Heart" experiment and tower building STEM challenge

This is a jam-packed class, sure to keep little hands and minds busy. I will demo each activity, so participants can look on as they work. If we have time, I will finish each class with a short game or story. Everyone is encouraged to make a valentine for the class to show on the last day as "homework". Bonus if it contains a fun science or STEAM pun!

*Please make sure you check the supply list prior to each meeting. I will also post reminders to the classroom*

Hello! My passion is teaching young students the importance and fun in science, technology, engineering, art, and math. I am a certified k-12 science teacher with a master’s in biology. I believe in hands-on learning and appealing to young learners’ interests to help them find their passion for STEAM! I’m a big animal lover and have been on an African safari three times! My idol is Jane Goodall, and I was fortunate enough to visit her chimpanzee sanctuary one of my trips!
