Class Experience

In this one-time Preschool story time class, learners will listen to a read-aloud of the book: “Green Eggs and Ham” by Dr. Seuss followed by the game “Roll and Cover.” Learners need to print a game board from the class page. (Please print 2 copies) The game board features green eggs and ham and a grid with the numbers one through six on it. Learners will take turns rolling the dice and calling out the number on the dice. Learners cover or circle the number each time it appears on the board until we have covered all the numbers from one to six. We will close by singing S-E-U-S-S O and the Goodbye song.

Profile
Teacher expertise and credentials
I am passionate about early childhood literacy and literacy has always been an integral part of my classroom. I have seven years teaching experience with preschool-aged children. I hold a Professional Educators license with endorsements in Early Childhood and Elementary Education and a concentration in Reading and Language Arts. I will be doing focused story times often integrating reading with math, science, and social studies. I will also be doing “double features” which feature two books that are the same in some way: topic, author, or series. My favorite is reading a fiction and non-fiction book on the same topic. This is a fun way to introduce young readers to non-fiction. My classes are interactive with songs and games. I enjoy traveling and going to museums and plays.
