Hi! This class will teach first American Sign Language signs to preschoolers. (Week of August 7th)- Introductions. We will practice how to sign the first letters in our names. We will sign along to the ASL ABCs, Days of the Week, Weather song and learn how to count to 10 in sign language and the number of the day.The signing theme is C is for Colors! We will learn how to signs for colors. (Week of August 14th)- We will practice signing the first letter in our names. We will sign along with the ASL ABCs. The signing theme is A is for Animals! We will Count together to 10 in ASL and learn the number of the day. We will sign along with the days of the week and weather song.We will sign about “Animals” and learn how to sign your favorite animal. (Week of August 21st)- We will practice signing the first letter in our names. We will sign along with the ASL ABCs. The signing theme is H is for Home! We will count together to 10 in sign language and learn the number of the day. We will sign along with the days of the week song and the weather song. We will Sign about “ Home”. (Week of August 28th)- We will practice signing the first letter in our names. We will sign along with the ASL ABCs. The signing theme is P is for Places! We will count together to 10 in Sign language. We will learn the number of the day. We will sign along with the days of the week and numbers song and learn how to sign your favorite places to go. (Week of September 4th)- The signing theme is T is for Transportation. We will learn how to sign School bus, train , cars and planes. (Week of September 11th)- The signing theme is O is for outside. We will learn to sign about what we like to do outside. (Week of September 18th)- The signing theme is B is for bedtime. The number of the day is 2. We will learn how to sign about bedtime routine. (Week of September 25th)- The signing theme is E is for Exercise ! The number of the day is 5. We will learn signs that go along with exercise!
Learning Goals
Young learners will learn how to start to use sign language for emerging language to communcate wants and needs with signs. Learners will learn ABCs , Numbers, Days of the Week, Weather and signs that go along with the theme.
