In each class we will begin with greetings and introductions of each learner. We will then sing our alphabet song, do a letter sound chant, go over our letter(s) of the day, and introduce our sight word of the day. In each lesson, we will draw the letter of the day and discuss different words that start with each letter. Students will learn all the letters of the alphabet and their corresponding sounds, blend sounds together to create words, increase their reading comprehension skills, and identify pre primer sight words.
I have a bachelors degree and masters degree in elementary special education. I have been teaching for 3 years from ages 4 to 11 for those with mild to severe disabilities. I have experience teaching math, science, reading, and social studies to students online.
Throughout this course, we will use materials such as play doh, popsicle sticks, and drawing materials.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
