Join Mrs. Dahl for a fun lesson to explore silly turkeys! This class is designed for 3 to 5 year old preschool/preK students. We will begin class by welcoming everyone with a "Hello" song. Next we will sing "Hello, Mr. Turkey" with actions. Then we will read the rhyme "Five Little Turkeys" with visuals. Then, we will take turns counting feathers on some silly turkeys. Next, we will read a fun story, "Five Silly Turkeys," by Salina Yoon. Then, we will make a turkey together (printout available after enrollment) and practice writing the word "T-U-R-K-E-Y" (guided practice). The turkey activity can be differentiated for younger and older students to meet their unique developmental levels. Finally, we will say goodbye to our friends with a song. *A bonus Turkey Counting activity (printout) will be posted in the classroom after the class has finished for additional practice.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their social/emotional skills by turn taking and following directions.
Students will improve counting and number sense through music, rhymes, game and a story.
Students will improve fine motor and visual motor skills by tracing the turkey and the word "turkey."
