Class Experience

US Grade Preschool - Kindergarten
In Ms. Julie and Pippa's classes, we focus on keeping kids connected, engaged, learning and giggling. Each week, we will cover new and exciting content while building friendships and confidence. Classes run year-round, so jump in any time, and we'll be so excited to meet a new friend!

We follow a similar schedule in every 30-minute class:
- 👋🎶 Sing hello and check on our friends' feelings; time for learners to share their thoughts and interact with each other
- ✏️💭 Learn something new
- 🎵 🎯 Sing or play a fun and silly game to solidify our new knowledge
- 🪩 Move and groove to a theme- related wiggle-buster song
- 📚 Read and interact with a theme-related story
- 🗣️ Share out with our friends
- 👋 🎶 Sing a goodbye song

Each day of the week will have a different focus:
📚Monday - ABC's and early literacy
🧮 Tuesday - 123's and early math literacy
🎭Wednesday - Fairy tales and imaginative play
🥰Thursday - Feelings and social/emotional skills
🎉Fridays - Fun Friday! (based on student interest, we might learn about different cultures, the arts, animals, or current events)

Our class will include lots of movement, so students will benefit from being able to get up out of their chairs, and will enjoy our time more if they have at least enough room to spin with their arms out. I always offer modifications for learners who aren't able to get up or who have limited space.

🤫 To limit background noise and distraction, students will be muted unless it is their turn to talk. 🔇 As a teacher, I am only able to request that your learner unmute; I cannot unmute them myself! 📢 If your child is unable to reliably unmute their microphone, please stay close by so that you can assist. I will help children develop this technological literacy as our classes together go forward.

📝 At the beginning of each week, I'll send printables for the whole week. I'll also attach the printables and extension activities at the end of class. These activities are optional, and meant to keep the fun times rolling throughout your day, wherever it may take you. They will never be required for class.

⏰ Please note that my classes may go about 5 minutes over the 30-minute class time limit. I always prioritize student voice, and like to allow class to flow naturally, which means timing is not always predictable. If you need to leave right at the end of class, that's always ok! I'll often offer to say goodbye and stick around with those students who are able.

❓Questions? Concerns? Please reach out! I love hearing from you and getting to know my learners families. You are the expert on your child, and I deeply value our communication and relationship.
Learning Goals
Students will learn and review their alphabet, numbers, shapes and colors, and social/emotional vocabulary and skills. The children (and their parents!) will also have learn new songs, dances, and games to take with them outside of class throughout the day. Reading a book each day will strengthen early literacy skills, and our share-outs will allow children to practice and refine social skills with their peers.

Learning Needs
I have extensive training and experience working with children with unique learning needs (ADHD, ASD, PTSD, ODD, Anxiety, Dyslexia, and beyond)! Please communicate your kiddo's learning needs directly to me so that I can help them.
Parental Guidance
We'll be moving and grooving, so enough space to stand up and move around is a plus! If that's not an option for your kiddo, don't worry. We can always adjust accordingly. We do a lot of imaginary play in my classes. Violent and/or weapon-related play is allowed. When we have show-and-tell, toy weapons are not an option for sharing. Thanks!
