This 4-Week non-live, interactive, and engaging pre-recorded Kindergarten Readiness Flex Class is designed for Preschool, Pre-K, Homeschool, and ESL learners. This course consists of a circle time experience that will focus on identifying 8 upper case and 8 lower case letters, identifying numbers 0 to 10, engaging in hands-on math activities using up to 10 various small counting objects that can be found in the learner's home, Clay Dough craft activities, games, and worksheets. By the end of this 4-week flex camp class: 1. Learners will be introduced to and practice these letters: Ll / Ii / Tt / Ff / Cc / Oo / Mm / Ww. 2. Learners will be introduced to and practice identifying numbers 0 to10 in random order, using number cards, and playing games such as Bingo, number search, and scavenger hunts. 3. Learners will be introduced to and practice counting from 1 to 10. (Rote counting, one-to-one correspondence).
Current Headstart Preschool / Pre-K Teacher: Experience: My experience for the past 20 years includes 15 years of experience as a preschool teacher, 5 years of experience as a licensed child care provider, and many, many years as an experienced parent. During these years, I have had the pleasure of teaching children ages 12 months to 12 years old, various school subjects with hands-on lesson plan activities and projects that I created. Subjects such as rhyming words, sight words, storytime, counting, making patterns, letter identification, letter sounds, social-emotional learning, and science experiments.
Learners will be completing scheduled letter or number worksheets daily and submitting them to the teacher on an individual basis. Homework should take no more than 3 additional hours each week outside of the pre-recorded videos.
Supply List Suggestions: (These are regular school supplies to have handy, please do not go out and purchase any additional supplies, we will not need them all, remember, these are only suggestions). 1. Any type of writing/drawing paper, dry erase board, small items to play Bingo. 2. Writing tools such as crayons, markers, or colored pencils. 3. Small counting objects such as blocks, small cars, play coins, clothespins. 4. Four favorite show and tell items. 5. Clay Dough, molding clay, or something to mold letters, numbers, and shapes. 6. Printer access to print worksheets.
Assessment will be conducted on a daily basis as learners submit their assignments to the teacher to check for accuracy, and via personalized posting to each learner to check for understanding of assignments and activities. I will also assess by using the " I Do, You Do, We Do" method. Reviews will also be conducted before the end of each recorded video, as well as every Friday during the " What I Practiced This Week" pre-recorded video.
No live meetings, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Parental assistance will be needed to print assignments and upload pictures and videos of the assignments.
This class will use various nursery rhymes, poems, and songs from the Public Domain, along with teacher-created google slide presentations embedded within the Outschool Classroom.
