Preschool Pipe Cleaner Craft Palooza with Mother Goose- Come Under the Sea with Me!
In this 40 minute class with Mother Goose, children will have a blast creating under the sea pipe cleaner creatures & diving in to create a fanciful story with their characters.

Your child will join Mother Goose (me!) and my pet goose Lucy, on a creative (craft and story telling) adventure under the sea! As we craft our under the sea pipe cleaner creatures, the children will each have a turn to name one as a character in our made up story. Each class will be unique and each story original as I guide the children in making up a swimmingly good tale with their pipe cleaner characters, a setting, a problem a hero and a solution. They will decide every step of the way how this story ebbs and tides while having a tidal wave sized good time!
Learning Goals
The children will express themselves creatively as they make their unique under the sea pipe cleaner creatures.
When listening, they are sharpening their ability to pay attention and follow step by step directions.
During the story creation portion of class they are expressing their ideas in a creative way, learning to participate in a group, working together as a team for the benefit of the group's story, speaking aloud in a group setting, and vocalizing character's parts in a story.
In any class involving a craft, even simple ones such as these, there are often a few children that get frustrated that theirs is not coming out quite as they see it in their mind. This allows opportunity for developing patience, a willingness to try again if desired and an acceptance with the fact that thing's don't always work out as we originally planned.

Supply List
Students will need pipe cleaners, stick on googly eyes, a pencil, small Styrofoam balls or pom pom balls. Scissors that will cut the pipe cleaners, or a parent to have a variety of sizes pre cut prior to class. They will need some full length, some in 1/2 and some 1/4s. If you have a Styrofoam ball-I can show the learners a cool Octopus they can make with that and pipe cleaners. However, so far, when I've taught this class, the children had the pipe cleaners, googly eyes and pom poms but not the Styrofoam ball. I am mentioning in case you have one-but want all parents to know we will focus on the crafts with the other supplies so no one is left out.
