Class Experience
Join Michelle in piano games, songs, rhythm, math, and fun while learning to play the piano! Wunderkeys is a piano curriculum designed for the preschool piano player. The method book is very interactive and informative making it easy for parents to help students through the material at home. Wunderkeys is a curriculum that includes 3 books with 10 lessons per book and takes a "school year" to complete the full curriculum. Students will work towards having strong rhythm, finger independence, pre-reading, math and pattern skills, and will learn to LOVE music! Each class is one unit within the book. Each unit provides clear instructions for practice and games. Each week students will receive a video lesson to follow along with and work on. Students work to learn all about the piano and work on their finger independence and piano preparation. Each week students will post one video in the class of an activity they enjoyed (a game, a song, or dancing to our math songs!). Share your favourite part of the lesson that you practiced in the classroom! The teacher will provide feedback on your videos and recommendations as well as sharing a few piano craft activities with you to try every 2 weeks. Week 1- "Welcome!" Introduction to our Wunderbies(fingers) Week 2- "Disco Dancing" Right hand and left hand identification. Wunderbies practice. Week 3- "Gold Treasure" Working on finger independence. Parental Guidance
Like most early music programs we strongly recommend parents sit with the students in class to help during class but also in practice. Supporting our young students to develop strong practice habits at a young age is essential.
This flex version does NOT meet live but is a great option for you to explore piano when your child is feeling ready and in a great mind set rather than scheduling.
