Class Experience

At the beginning of class, we will read "Mertie's Got the Munchies", which teaches the names of fruits and vegetables. We will discuss the foods, see pictures of how they are actually grown, and talk about how they keep our bodies healthy.

Next, we will read "Snacktime With Sullivan", which teaches the difference between whole and processed foods in rhyming style. Kids will be introduced to the concept of whole and processed foods at a level they can understand.

The books will be on the screen so students can easily follow along. Students will be supplied with coloring and activity sheets to use in and after class.

This is the perfect class to introduce young learners to healthy foods. My teaching style is casual and I like to ask questions and encourage participation, while keeping kids on track with the lesson.

**It is not mandatory to purchase the books for class, but they are available on Amazon if you would like copies of them. They are great resources for young nutrition students. Links are below:

I’ve been studying health and nutrition on my own for over 15 years. I became interested in nutrition when I was experiencing my own health problems and was looking for answers outside of medication. In November of 2019, I began my studies and received my health coach certification from the Primal Health Coach Institute in the spring of 2020. I have also run several nutrition groups on social media and have helped friends and family members clean up their diets and improve their health. I've taught over 500 students in my Outschool class Eat Like a Boss.
