Description
Class Experience
In this class, students will explore early musical concepts. Music and movement is a very important part of early childhood development. It promotes the mind and body working together. Music and movement help with literacy skills in that it helps children to hear the sounds and meaning of words. Music and movement allow children to engage in self-expression and develop motor skills. It also strengthens memory skills and develops school readiness skills. Learners will sing, dance, and move...
Students will increase musical awareness, as well as explore early musical concepts.
No homework will be assigned.
-Scarf, ribbon, or other fabric type material to move along with music -Shaker (using a plastic egg or small container with a lid, place rice into the egg/container. Seal container and tape closed) -Learners will receive optional activities after class to practice songs learned in class
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
No formal assessment
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Safety: Please make sure there is adequate space for your learner to make and dance. Be sure that your learner is wearing appropriate shoes for movement. Have a water bottle filled for hydration. As with any type of movement activity, children may accidentally injure themselves. Please make sure to take the above precautions to keep learners safe.
